End of Semester Update- December 4, 2020
Happy December!
We would like to wish all of our winter activities good luck as they begin their seasons.
Beatrice Public Schools would like to provide the community and our families with some updates about the end of the semester. We currently have 16 active cases throughout our district.
Update #1: On December 7, 2020, the high school will return to in-person instruction. Our quarantine and isolation numbers are currently at 6% of the high school student population which is a decrease from 11%. We would like to thank our staff, students, and families for all of their hard work during this remote learning opportunity.
Update #2: First semester will end on December 18, 2020. Please note - this is a change from the original approved calendar. We will not have students in session on December 21 and 22. We are making this decision to continue to keep all students and staff safe.
Update #3: With the change in DHMs, students are able to return to school early from their quarantine (either after 7 days and a negative test OR after 10 days of no symptoms). Please note the following will need to occur. In order for a student to return after 7 days and test out of quarantine, families will need to provide documentation which demonstrates that students have received a negative PCR or Antigen test on day 5, 6, or 7. When students return to school after the 7 or 10 days of quarantine, students will be expected to monitor their symptoms closely for the entire 14 day period.
Update #4: We hope that the holiday break treats everyone well. Students will plan to return in Tier II (masks mandatory) on January 5, 2021. We will continue to move forward with in-person learning unless an unforeseen circumstance arises. Please continue to monitor the health of you and your family to keep all of our community safe.
We would like to wish each of our families a wonderful weekend.
