Sarah (Terwilleger) Soularve is a 1972 graduate of BHS. She was given an opportunity to audition with the renowned organists, Maurice and Marie-Madeleine Durufle, who was in Omaha presenting an organ concert. After hearing her perform the eDupre “Variations sur un Noel” from memory, they accepted her as a student in Paris. The Durufles were among the most respected organists in the world. In 1975 Sarah was accepted in the organ class at the Paris Conservatory, the most reputed organ class in the world. In 1978 she was awarded a unanimous First Prize. She was only the second American in the history of the organ class at the Conservatory to be awarded First Prize. She is currently principal organist at Cathedral Sacre Couer in Paris, located at the top of Mont Matre. Sarah’s musical activity includes liturgy, teaching and concerts in Europe and the United States.
