Dr. Robert Blankenship is a 1966 graduate of BHS. He graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan with BA in Chemistry and earned his Ph.D. from the University of California-Berkeley in Chemistry and Physics. He spent his career researching photosynthesis. The research has been used in procedures such as magnetic resonance and ultra fast optical spectroscopy and molecular evolutionary analysis. He is currently teaching at Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. where he has been recognized as a distinguished professor.
