Dr. Robert McCown is a 1958 graduate of BHS. Dr.McCown received his BA degree from Hastings College in 1964 and his MA and PH.D. degrees from Stanford in Physics. As a teacher, he received numerous awards. While a Senior Research Scientist at Battelle Memorial Institute in Columbus, Ohio, Dr. McCown invented four different items for which he received patents. Due to his own disability from polio, he served as a consultant for the Federal Accessibility Code. Dr. McCown died in June of 2002.
