Martha Fricke, a 1950 graduate, served as president of the National School Board's Association and the Nebraska Association of School Boards. She served on the Ashland-Greenwood Board of Education from 1969 to 1992 serving as president and vice-president. She was employed by the Nebraska Association of School Boards as Director of Government Relations. She received the Governor's award in recognition of Service to Higher Education, the Phi Delta Kappa Norman Thorpe Service Award, the Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumnae Achievement Award and the Qalter Beggs Service to Education Award.
