Dr. John C. Elwood is a 1948 graduate of Beatrice High. Dr. Elwood has been awarded various research grants, which have allowed him to study issues such as Diabetes, Tumor Metabolism and Regulation, Essential Fatty Acid Deficiency and Glycolysis and respiration in Ascites Tumor Cells. to his credit, Dr. Elwood has published 50 publications dealing with subjects such as Cholesterol, cancer research, and Metabolism. His background includes a B.S in Chemistry from Willamette University and an M.S, and Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Oregon Medical School.
