Phoebe (Dempster) Hamann is a 1948 graduate of BHS. Phoebe earned a BA music degree in 1952 and an MA degree in 1980 from UNL. She founded the Theatre Arts for Youth in 1970 and in 1984 the Strings Alliance in Lincoln Music Camp. She has organized Lolly Pop concerts, which brought members of the Lincoln Symphony into schools. Her work has earned her numerous honors, including the Mayor's Arts Award and has served on various Arts boards.
